This project, on which Simplify I.T. was a sub-contractor, is a complicated control panel built to very precise requirements. It allows the business owner to record damage to buildings and attach 4k-quality videos and images to an inspection line. It also allows their clients to log in and view all their buildings on a Google Map and view their inspections with pixel-level zoom functionality. Finally, it features a custom-written file manager, similar to DropBox.
Kilmarnock Enterprise is a rapidly-growing company in Smiths Falls, Ontario. In an effort to bring their business systems in line with the company’s strategy, they commissioned Simplify IT to: – perform an in-house analysis of their processes and procedures – facilitate meetings with stakeholders – reflect all findings in a technical document – gain approval from all parties on the company’s approach to a new business system.
Simplify I.T. has just completed an internal SQL Server and PHP driven sales accounts system for a multinational company, to replace a Google Sheets file. It has approximately 100 users. This complex new system, which runs on an internal server, is an authorisation system that sends emails to the relevant users asking them to review a workflow stage and fill out the relevant data relating to it. It contains a suite of reports and has different security levels.
Savoir, a French-culture business based in Ontario Canada, needed a fully responsive and phone-friendly library system that its students could use to look for books, CDs, DVDs etc. As is often the case, off-the-shelf solutions were either too complicated or lacked some of the required features. As always, Simplify I.T. created a system especially for the client.
Our second Canadian project involved creating an online calendar system for a luxury cat hotel near Perth, Ontario. This system allows the owners to record cat bookings and visits and most importantly, see at a glance the projected revenue for this and future months. Previously they used Microsoft Excel and had to generate each month manually which was extremely time-consuming.
Another Canadian project, Pickers Trading Place was one of the more challenging websites that Simplify I.T. has worked on. Fully responsive and phone-friendly, it allows antique dealers and pickers to create an account and list their products for sale. It also allows for PayPal payments and the creation of auctions as well as trade-to-trade offers.
This project involved working around a DOS accounting program called Take5. While this simple package does the day-to-day tasks extremely well, it’s very rigid when it comes to reporting. Simplify I.T. learned how the DBF tables interacted and set them up to automatically extract to a server overnight, automatically convert and import themselves into a Microsoft Access database. Combined with pre-written forms and reports, this allowed for a whole new level of sales reporting that could be developed and changed rapidly. The couple of days previously spent typing VAT data (every 2 months) has now been replaced by a one-click report.
The Chiropractic Association of Ireland (CAI) requested that a custom-written membership system be written especially for them, to precise requirements. This system would need to handle all aspects of their association…historical documents, payments, certificates, specialities, education, insurance, profile photos…with a full field-level audit trail. Simplify I.T. delivered exactly that.
The owner of LocalSigns.ie, a new business, wanted the ability to add new towns (with Google Map coordinates) using a custom-written control panel. Within each town, he needed to add an unlimited number of locations as placemarkers, with an image and text for each. This was a new area for Simplify I.T. and we’re very pleased with the result.
SMF Engineering were spending many hours every week creating invoices manually in Excel. Simplify I.T. built a small system that allows them to generate their invoices in a structured way and have one-click reporting.
